It would be first heard on the 8th January 1931 at a rally in the Berlin Sportpalast. Used primarily as a marching song for the Sturmabteilung, it also saw use by the Reichsarbeitsdienst and for the Volkssturm’s inauguration in 1944. Lyrics: ‘ 1.
