In the early 90s they were replaced on most of the lines predominately by Class 150 and 153 units. For many years they still worked on a Birmingham line but have been removed from service in 1995 with the last unit gone in 2000. Nowadays, these units can often be found in preservation. The Gwili Railway is just one example of preservation movement with such DMUs here shown in yellow livery carrying the number 2A74 at the front display.
