The iPad offers great portability for the voice actor who needs mobility and using an external USB interface to record with offers superior recording. We show you how to connect and setup the ipad for mobile voice over recording for voice over auditions on the go. An iPhone can be used in the same method. We use the zoom H6 with the iPad in this example, but you can use any USB interface that is class compliant. If you are not using an interface that is battery powered or powered by way of a wall socket, you will need to provide power to your audio interface via USB bus. Simply connect a powered USB hub between your iPad interface. This is not shown in the video. You will also need either the Apple Lightning to USB Camera adapter or Apple USB-C to USB Camera Adapter. These come in two varieties. If you wish to power your iPad while recording, choose the option with the additional charging port. There is much recording software for the ipad. We use the free Zoom handy recorder, as well as Twisted Wave for the iPad - an audio recording and editor widely used by voice over talent and voice actors. ❤️ SUBSCRIBE NOW for more professional-grade microphone comparisons, beginner voice over tips, and VO production techniques.
