None of the chapters here were continous, so I segmented this together over the last few days were I'd just find some route for 100% and then start over and record it afterwards. Also includes weapon masteries of course, most of them are easy to by just playing normally, while others were... well, just skip some of the parts on map 19-20 and others were just annoying. The mission challenges were however quite easy and straightforward to do. Disabled the screen effects, I don't know if it's just me but the sprint effect is just way too much. No hud also disables subtitles as far as I can tell so sorry if anyone wanted those. Gameplay for each chapter starts at: Intro: 0:00 Village of Khalim: 0:04:55 Hebeth: 0:21:54 Barrier Core: 0:34:58 Sentinel Barracks: 0:44:27 Holy City of Aratum: 0:59:07 Siege Part 1: 1:30:59 Siege Part 2: 1:58:17 Abyssal Forest: 2:14:17 Ancestral Forge: 2:29:28 Forsaken Plains: 2:50:48 Hellbreaker: 3:11:35 Sentinel Command Station: 3:19:49 From Beyond: 3:35:26 Spire of Nerathul: 3:46:55 City of Ry'uul: 4:26:53 The Kar'thul Marshes: 4:43:48 Temple of Lomarith: 4:57:41 Belly of the Beast: 5:18:17 Harbor of Souls: 5:42:14 Resurrection: 6:12:53 Final Battle: 6:50:15 Reckoning: 7:12:51 Codexes: 7:29:00 After having gotten through this I can say speedrunning UNM 100% on normal speed is not on my mind currently. I don't know how long the cutscenes are so I don't know how long a speedrun would have been, but for eternal 100% my first exit was under 3 hours, here I'd maybe be looking at under 6 hours with a bit more practice. Some comments on this playthrough: A little bit less time spent looking at the automap compared to my first playthrough. Somehow didn't notice I upgraded the shredder instead of the impaler for a while, but I use the SSG here primarily or the plasma. Farming demons or bosses for the weapons mastery near the end ain't pretty. Wasn't pretty the other ones towards the end were I didn't use some staggered boss either. Probably should have used the skull crusher more, it really speeds up movement speed. I don't know why I dislike using the chainshot so much, it's obviously very good, but I just don't enjoy using it. Plasma accelerator is actually really good. Didn't use the heaven splitter shield rune much here, but I think it's the best one now. Most of these maps were practiced once and attempted once usually at the same time, but for map 20 I had a break in between and since it's so large I forgot where to go at times. Usually I'd just write down some of the things I'd expect to forget easily to try and avoid checking the automap to confirm that I got everything constantly. I can highly recommend disabling the HUD, there's still a key prompt that shows up with the purple circle disabled so it's still easy to tell when something can be executed. Health and ammo info isn't that useful. Some negatives: Pro tip: Always run on in options. Why this was an option to begin with, and why default was set to no is completely beyond me. There's a single place I think a key to walk instead would have been useful. Doesn't surprise me that some of the weapons feel weaker compared to others, it happened plenty in 2016 and eternal too. The same goes for the shield runes. Super annoying that I often end up using melee twice somehow, hope that gets fixed at some point, it feels like I'm just giving up complete control for two seconds where 1 of those seconds is because of slow motion. I swear I've seen melee triggered randomly 10+ seconds after I last pressed the key. There's various other glitches like the shield just stops working at times too, but no crashes! How incredibly cool the crossbow BFG is, but once you realize you're actually just fighting 2 or 3 demons at most you understand why it's so disappointing. The most insane decision however was to not have an option to disable the slow-mo after parrying. Also idTech engine games have about a 30% chance to launch the game on the wrong monitor and then sometimes change my monitors resolution, this has been an issue since 2016, lol. Some positives: Too many to list, the game is amazing, I enjoy it more than 2016, but not as much as eternal. The impaler is incredible and my favorite thing from this game... and the load times, wow. I'd write more but there's a 5000 char limit so it'll have to do. Thanks for watching!
