What can you see and do in Banff for free? Banff was our last stop on our family RV road trip through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. We spent a day exploring the sights and village before parting ways - Jay’s parents to Calgary, and the rest of us back to BC. This RV vlog shares what we saw in Banff in a one day visit. We started the day with a visit to see the HOODOOS and were rewarded with the sounds of elk calling in the valley below. Hoodoos are columns of weathered rock that look like chimneys on the hillside. We found FREE PARKING for our RV’s and the rental car on Railway Ave in Banff town so that we could go explore the village. The free parking does have certain conditions which are posted on the signs in the lot. It happened to be market day in Banff on our visit, and we enjoyed walking around to see the different shops and restaurants. Of course, no visit to Banff is complete with a photo with the BANFF SIGN. Then we all piled into the rental car and drove up Mt Norquay Rd for BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF BANFF and the surrounding mountains.
