OUR STORY... I HAVE FOUND THE ONE WHOM MY SOUL LOVES - Song of Solomon 3:4 It started with a swipe. Yes, that’s right. This is not your ordinary love story. In February of 2018 Keeva and Eddie connected on the dating app Tinder. There were a few messages exchanged, and when we say a few, maybe 2 or 3, and then things fizzled out. They’re not exactly sure who ghosted who, but they’ll just say things went cold. Fast forward to May 2019, Keeva receives a message on Tinder from Eddie saying “Hey, how are you?” Keeva responds, not remembering that she had previously chatted with Eddie a whole year prior. Keeva and Eddie chat for a few days via the app and then they exchange phone numbers. They talk on the phone for a few days and then decide to finally meet in person. Now this is where things get a little funky. The first date didn’t happen when it was supposed to happen, and let’s just say it took some heavy apologizing to make it to an actual date, but they are here today so….LOL. On May 30, 2019 Keeva and Eddie finally have their first date. They spend hours talking and laughing over dinner and drinks at Bar Louie. The first date was a success, which led to many more dates. On July, 27, 2019 Keeva and Eddie make it “official”. #andthedategoeson Eddie, When did you know Keeva was the one? I knew early on that Keeva was my forever. There isn’t just one moment, but many. Our communication is very important to us. Keeva and I laugh like little children and have “good grown folk talk”. We are also able to comfortably sit with each in the most comfortable silence I have ever experienced. She shares her world with me completely. All her friends put me under intense scrutiny and questioning in the beginning, but this helped me to realize that this woman was loved and that she was precious to family and friends, so I knew she would be precious to me. Hospitality is big with Keeva. She wants everyone that comes to her home to feel welcomed and at home. She has made me feel at home in her heart and I have no desire to leave. We have endured some ups and downs over these 18 months together but through it all our love, commitment, and dedication to each other has remained consistent. I made the declaration that I do not need a perfect woman, I just want a woman that is perfect for me. That’s Keeva! God made manifest more than I ever expected. Keeva, When did you know Eddie was the one? For me it took a little time. I will admit, after a lot of years of dealing with hurt and games from other guys, my heart was tightly guarded so it was hard for me to let Eddie in. He was very persistent and was determined to show me he was not here for games and that he was genuine in his intentions. Effort is really big to me and Eddie went above and beyond to show me he was here to stay. What really solidified things for me was a surprise trip he planned for me to Niagara Falls in September 2019. During one of our very first conversations Eddie asked me to tell him a place I had never been, that I always wanted to go. My answer was Niagara Falls. My birthday was coming up in October and I already had a trip planned to Thailand so I wasn’t going to be in town for my actual birthday. Little did I know, Eddie was plotting and planning on how he could make sure we shared a special moment for my birthday. With the help of my friend, Suzette, Eddie planned a surprise romantic weekend getaway to Niagara Falls. It was during that weekend I knew he was the one. The actual trip was wonderful, but it wasn’t just about the trip for me, it was the effort and planning he put forth to make it happen. I learned early on in our relationship that planning was not his thing, so this was a huge thing for him to undertake. It also showed me that he was attentive to my needs, wants and desires. Eddie has shown me so much love and appreciation over the past 18 months. Our journey has been such a whirlwind, one that I could have never even imagined. From originally connecting in 2018, to finding out we have several mutual friends, I often wondered what took us so long to get here. But, at the end of the day it’s all about timing, God’s timing, not our own. This Is Only The Beginning... On Saturday, July 25, 2020, in front of family and friends, Eddie took the leap and asked Keeva to be his wife. Keeva, without hesitation, said YES. So here they are today, looking forward to embarking on this next chapter together, FOREVER. #CareyMeAway
