Bridges, Bike Lanes by Jack Frerer from my album 'Drifter' which comes out on Summit Records on April 9th, 2021! Here's a bit about the piece in Jack's words: Bridges, Bike Lanes was inspired by the near-daily bike rides I took whilst living in Brooklyn in June of 2020. While the rides themselves were repetitive and habitual, their details always felt fresh and surprising; exploring an unridden side street, passing something odd and New-York-specific, learning new expletives from angry city drivers, etc. This piece copies my routine at that time, one dictated by a craving for structure and repetition at a time when it was hard to come by, but also a desire to break those structures once they became too restricting. Performers: Eric Huckins, horn erichuckins.com Robert Fleitz, piano http://www.robertfleitz.com/ Audio Engineer: Nathan Prillaman https://www.nathanprillaman.com/ A special thank you to Jack Frerer and Liana Kleinman for capturing this video at the recording session!
