Using Drop Nets and Corral Traps to Control Feral Hogs

Feral hogs are the cause of significant ecological and economic problems in many U.S. states, but especially so throughout the South. Joshua Gaskamp, research assistant, details the results of a multi-year study in which collaborators from the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Texas A&M and the National Wildlife Research Center evaluated the efficiency of both drop nets and corral traps to capture wild hogs. The research took place near the Red River in Love County, Oklahoma during 2010 and 2011. This presentation was recorded on Oct. 1, 2012 at the Noble Foundation in Ardmore, Okla.
