Today I take you along for the repotting of my recently purchased Monkey Orchids and show you how the cool area of my grow room is evolving! 🦋 More info below! 🦋 If you missed my recent unboxing, here it is    • Unboxing  Exciting Orchid Haul! - Finally ...   Draculas are not your typical house Orchid, they need a bit more attention when it comes to their culture. They hate drying out, they hate heat and dry air.. so you can imagine the hassle. So I am trying to accomodate all their needs in a 'cooler' zone in my greenhouse using things that are not hard to get even by home growers! First the zone is close to the floor, I want to take advantage of the coolest air in the room. I am also starting to use unglazed clay pots in the area to help keep the temperature down (through evaporative cooling). I need to use net pots to acomodate their spikes, but I am using only sphagnum moss and always keeping them wet. Moss stays cool too! And finally a humidifier, gotta give them that mist! Now let's see how this goes!
