Mount Bouzloudja, Bulgaria. Here, the wild nature and the past merge, vibrating with a unique energy that emanates from buried memories and past battles. At the summit of this mountain stands the Monument of Bouzloudja, an imposing brutalist structure. This monumental edifice dominates the landscape with an almost supernatural force, evoking both the grandeur and the contradictions of a bygone era. Inaugurated in 1981, the monument was designed to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Bulgarian Socialist Party. The edifice served not only as a memorial but also as a gathering place for Party members and official events. It was intended to embody the power and modernity of the Bulgarian communist regime while celebrating the struggles and victories of the past. After the fall of communism in 1989, the monument was abandoned. Over time, it has undergone an inevitable process of entropy. However, the energy of this place goes far beyond the monument and what it represents. Mount Bouzloudja is a sanctified mountain, a strong symbol that holds a central place in Bulgarian national mythology. ✨ 👁️ ✨ 👁️ ✨ Forgotten Futures is a seven-episode series that immerses us in an exploration of the Balkans where past and future converge in a whirlpool of memory and forgetfulness. Forget Your Past is the session that opens this exploration, transporting us to Mount Bouzloudja, where time seems suspended and the remnants of the past inhabit every corner. Here, ancient tales blend with echoes of battles, hopes, and disillusionments of a previous age. It is a constant struggle between what has been and what could be, a journey toward an undefined future where the lessons of the past shape the dreams and promises of a new order to come. Each episode of Forgotten Futures invites us to revisit these forgotten futures, to explore the buried memories in the mountains and valleys of the Balkans. We are also working on a documentary for this series, which will delve more deeply into the history of each location. Always with 📷 Chalisk Pito Notes: I use my modular synth as a small electronic orchestra. My sequences are composed on the piano, with my voice, or directly on the modular synth, and then programmed into the Nerdseq sequencer. When I'm in the studio, I also use the Ground Control and the ER-101. Pre-recorded samples of my voice, soundscapes from the locations, instruments (all played by me), and certain effects are reintroduced into the system through sampler modules like the ER-301, 1010 MK2, and STS. These are triggered and mixed with the rest of the sequences. The composition, instrumentation, and preparation phase for each session takes weeks, sometimes months of work. This project has always been funded by Chalisk and me. It isn’t really sustainable, but it’s purely about the process, the journey, art, spirituality, and the joy of sharing this experience with you. Among the gear used are: Nerdseq, ER-301, Pamela’s New Workout, Autopilot, STOs, Mini Mods (VCOs/VCFs), DPO, XPO, QPAS, Foundation Oscillator, Amp & Tone, Mangrove, Bartola Valves (VCO2, Fuzz, LPG, VCA), Marie's LFO, Erbe-Verb, Mimeophon, BDS, mk4, Panharmonium, Lyra-8 FX, Overseer, MSCL, VCA Matrix, and lots of multiples. We strive to do as much as possible ourselves. It’s always a process within a process, a way to discover and learn new things. / helenevogelsinger https://helenevogelsinger.bandcamp.com/ . . . . #forgottenfutures #modularsynth #synthesizer #soundart #electronicmusic #modularartist #modularsession #bouzloudja #historicalart #creativeprocess #spiritualjourney
