Violence Erupts at KGMU: Nursing Staff & Doctors Clash, Hospital Services Disrupted | News9

Tensions escalated at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, as a violent clash broke out between nursing staff and junior resident doctors. Nursing officer Shubham Rao filed an FIR accusing nine orthopaedics doctors of assault, alleging they were intoxicated, physically attacked him, and issued death threats. An OT technician who intervened was also beaten and verbally abused. KGMU suspended four junior doctors pending an inquiry. The following day, the doctors filed a counter FIR against Rao. Protests by both groups disrupted hospital operations, including emergency services. Authorities have promised strict action once the inquiry committee submits its findings.
