Ask any Indonesian fan collectors about plastic mini ceiling fans & you'll get conversations about 'oldie' mini ceiling fans with their distinctive red, green or blue colors, modern ones that have flexible blades, and maybe mini clip fans. What you won't hear about is this, Sanex's newest concoction. In this video you'll hear my true opinions for this fan, not just factual stuff I said in the review video Everyone has to have an '"esthetic'" item nowadays huh? As someone who enjoys & studies in the world of interior design, the term esthetic generally points to minimalistic these days. I'm more of a classic mid-century guy & still doesn't get why minimalistic contemporary designs are even a thing, but recently I've noticed sleek & minimalistic appliances abound. I first saw this trend starting with Arisa's 8 bladed all plastic pedestal fan in around 2018. After Covid happened, many more fans starting to be produced with similar styling. I mean, look for Krisbow's white rechargeable stand fan, Mitochiba's 12" & 16" fans and Gaabor's Xiaomi-ish 12" pedestal fan as proof for what I just said. Heck, even Panasonic with their stodgy National era 16" pedestal fan design recently joined the trend, with an absolutely overpriced but admittedly sleek 16" pedestal fan. Sanex isn't a brand I associate with quality, instead for the lack thereof. But when @reviewerjangkung posted his opinions about this fan, I was intrigued. I did saw through Sanex's attempt to make a huge profit by making an oscillating pedestal fan with a mini ceiling fan motor & all plastic construction, but that didn't deter me from actually seeing & testing one for myself. Honestly I think they're an absolute genius for bringing this to the market, and I'm not being sarcastic here. I mean, why bother using a Chinese fan motor with aluminium windings that they know for a fact will blow up in less than a year if they can use synchronous motors as the powerhouse for this fan. Those motors have proven themselves for more than 20 years in the form of plastic ceiling fans, some of them generate impressive airflow when coupled with the right blade design, they cost nothing to make, as energy efficient(and buzzy) as a Geo Metro, and as a bonus repairmen hate fixing these types of motors, so when one dies people will gravitate towards buying a new one, generating more profit for the company. I am impressed with this fan to be honest. Like the Ford Maverick, Sanex managed to make a dirt cheap fan look cheerful & nice. and like the Ford Maverick, this isn't everyone's cup of tea. Yes the design is eye pleasing, the blades are sturdy & deeply pitched and the plastics surprisingly don't feel like they were recycled from takeout containers, but this fan is not the best in terms of performance. This fan only has one single speed. Yes it has the numbers 1 & 2 on the speed dial, but speed 2 just turns the oscillator on, it doesn't make the fan spin any faster or slower. It also humms, which annoys the crap out of me when it's the only thing running in a quiet room. All you can hear is just a constant "MMMMMMMM". That being said, this fan is still an absolute steal of a deal if you need your fan to blend in your minimalist livingroom. It won't drown out conversations or TV with its humming sound, and airflow is perfect if you don't need a fan that blows hard on you. Oh and one more thing, @sanexindonesia, if you watch this video, here's a free idea for you if you hadn't come up with it yet. I know how modular the construction of this fan is from taking it into bits & re-assembling it, and I know how easy it is to swap out parts. Why not make the blades available in different colors such as white, cappuccino, green, maybe transparent? And why not make a version with black/dark brown everything except for the blades? It would look very upper class if this fan were dark colored with clear light blue blades, and the color variation should absolutely bring more people with different interior color themes to buy this fan. #Unboxing #Sanex #PedestalFan
