However, waiting isn't punishment—it's preparation for something better than we could imagine. Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us that God makes everything beautiful in its time, and His timing is always perfect, even when ours feels off. Biblical examples powerfully illustrate this principle. David was anointed king but waited years before taking the throne, using that time to face giants, flee from Saul, and learn to place complete trust in God. This wasn't wasted time but character-building time that shaped him into the king God needed him to be. Similarly, Joseph endured 13 years from slavery to serving Pharaoh, learning to interpret dreams, manage resources, and lead people. When God's timing was right, Joseph was prepared to save Egypt and his family from famine. The key to waiting well is to focus on the process rather than just the outcome, much like the concept of chopping wood and carrying water—doing mundane daily tasks that prepare us for our ultimate purpose. In our spiritual lives, this means daily prayer, studying Scripture, serving others, and learning patience, instead of constantly asking God when, we should ask what He wants to do in us while we wait. God uses waiting periods to build character, teach patience, develop faith, and show us our dependence on Him. His pace isn't our pace because He sees the bigger picture and knows exactly what we need to learn and develop for His perfect plan to unfold.
