Special needs adoption can be hard. I was heartbroken when I saw Myka Stauffer's "rehoming" announcement video this weekend, and this video is what is on my heart about adoption after viewing the video. About us: we adopted Sophie from China 5 years ago in 2015. Sophie has special needs caused by a rare genetic condition called SETD5. She is a joy to us, and we are so blessed that she is in our family. But the truth is that special needs adoption is hard. Nothing about adoption is easy for anyone involved because adoption is born from loss.
