Every human at some point or the other seeks to know, to understand what this creation is all about, who we are, who I am , and what is the purpose of my existence, where did we come from, and who created us? Such thoughts maybe fleeting in few and some may ponder over it for a lifetime. The human mind always craves to unravel this mystery of life. But how does one unravel the truth, who guides them and what does one do to gain that which seems beyond the normal human experience and way beyond our limited existence in time and space? The great mystics all over the world have addressed these questions in many diverse ways, some developed the form of religious paths, some seek the outer universe while some looked within the inner world of the human mind. Some experienced life beyond the obvious in meditative phase …. or rather in a mystical mood. How do we as artists satiate our quest for the truth, our rather our quest for life itself? The fact that we understand that there is something beyond the obvious as we see or know, leaves a feeling of being limited or incomplete. So how do we address this natural urge in us to feel one with all and thereby become all knowing and also feel complete in the process. The Mystics may ponder, meditate and follow various disciplines or rather go beyond all disciplines at some point…..but the same experience we artists share and follow through our art too. We express this search, this urge to go beyond the obvious to feel complete in various ways and styles of our Art. The creation of our art is a process of self transformation, self knowledge and self fulfilment. We may not be in this state or zone 24/7 but the act of creation of our art does take us there for few minutes, hours or days. And this I term it as “MYSTIC MOOD” of the artist. MYSTIC MOOD title was coined rather intuitively…. It just happened… my mind analysed it much later. In this event I wish to showcase works of various artists who each follow diverse ways to self fulfilment. Each is inspired by various aspects, each express in different styles. Some have religious influence, some display influence of nature, some the world and culture around and some are knocking into their inner world of desires, needs, imagination and experiences beyond words. 45 artists are part of this event and hence their works are displayed in two parts. I hope that the viewers enjoy and connect with the common thread that binds all creation. Stay tuned and looking forward to your feedback too.
