At least fourteen people are believed to have been killed in a shooting at the Faculty of Arts university building in central Prague, with scores more hurt, Czech police have said. Police said that the number of dead included the attacker. The Prague police chief said that the shooter was a student at the university. Police have also said that the suspect’s father, who they have not named at present, was found dead earlier in the day Gunfire was reported at 3.15pm local time in the philosophy department of Charles University, in the centre of Prague. A carol singing event was taking place in the building, the university said. Students were told to barricade themselves in.
