I missed my old Japanese Shinto Rasp and needed something to do a similar job and function. This is what I've been using and I actually think it's more useful, as I can use as many blades as I need and can focus on smaller areas when working with the added bonus of it being cheap and easy to make, especially as I have a reciprocating saw and plenty of blades to experiment with. If I didn't have the blades they would only cost around 7 Euro for a pair and can easily be resharpened making them last for a very long time. I like the idea of DIY and making my own Tools, especially if it is a Tool that is not easily found or readily available. Handmade Tools give great satisfaction and for me it is fun knowing that I created something to help me better improve my woodworking experience.
