Join iVue Robotics Founder, Jacob Andrews, back out at Denmark Drone Park for a field test of the Develop Air drone and a look at the latest features in the iVue RoboControl app. Jacob starts by showcasing the new top down visual representation of Develop Air within the iVue RC app, which replaces the old Develop Air icon, though Jacob identifies a minor orientation bug to be fixed in production. After troubleshooting a "Compass Inconsistent" error with a quick "safety dance" calibration, Jacob got the Develop Air airborne. He also demonstrated the app's realtime virtual tracking and test the "Smart RTL" (Return to Launch) mode, which utilizes a breadcrumb trail to navigate the drone safely back home avoiding obstacles, rather than the standard climb-and-return method. Finally, Jacob heads to the "bench" for a technical update on the Develop Air mini. He discusses why standard LiPo voltage charts are inaccurate for our Lithium-Ion batteries and walks through a new Lua script update. This script adjusts the LED status light thresholds (Green, Yellow, Red) to correctly reflect Li-Ion voltage curves, ensuring you have accurate battery telemetry in the field.
