Dana has been a reporter and consultant to PBS Frontline where she worked on two, two-part documentaries, The Global Spyware Scandal: Exposing Pegasus and The Facebook Dilemma which won a Peabody Award. She has authored two best-selling, award-winning books: Top Secret America and The Mission, which was a Pulitzer Finalist in Non-Fiction. In the last decade she has focused on helping local news survive as a linchpin of civic life. Dana lives in Marshall, VA. and Washington DC with her husband, dog and horses.
