Setting up the ring and pinion is the most difficult part of transaxle rebuilding. It's not rocket science, but it does take careful measurements with specialized tools. I'm sure there will more custom tools before this is all over, but I feel like the most difficult stuff is behind me. I'm excited to get the gears off and see what else the trans might need. If you are wondering why I'm building my own tools instead of borrowing tools or asking for a professionals help, its because I want to do this type of work again on a 915 transmission.
