6min recap of this stream's accomplishments starts at 3:35:56    • Alwa's NES Awakening fan-port Stream ...   Continue brushing off the dust on 6502 assembly skills with Brad Smith's ca65 example project from last stream. Fix ca65 debugger label issues so mesen's debugger can give proper labels & comments from source code. Allows me to step through the very broken background loading routine from last stream and repair it. Create a lame makefile so don't have to use Brad's provided .bat file. Migrate project from NROM (no mapper 32KB PRG-ROM & 8KB CHR-ROM) to CNROM mapper (still 32KB PRG-ROM, but creates 4 CHR banks for 32KB CHR-ROM). Now able to have 4x banks of Pattern Tables, giving us 4 total tile sets. Implement sprite zero hit to allow each frame to start with CHR bank #0 which contains the HUD (heads up display) tileset. Sprite Zero is at the bottom right corner of the HUD which we poll for in the code to then switch to CHR bank #1 which contains the forsaken valley tileset. Now we've got 256 tiles available for the HUD & separate 256 tiles available for the play field.
