"Songs of the Valley" is an original orchestral composition I've worked on over the past two to three months. It is inspired by themes of nature, in particular the vision of a verdant, serene valley nestled among proud peaks of stone. Though not a multi-movement work, the piece unfolds in distinct sections that form a narrative arc (listed below and reflected in the score). The piece weaves together a tapestry of melodies and motifs — the 'songs' — each one introduced and transformed as the journey unfolds. Eventually, many of these individual themes are joined together and unified as the music climaxes.
