This video is composed from shots of a much more epic journey of bringing back to life a wrecked VFR. Along the way I checked the valves, cleaned them, and adjusted them. This video is what I could put together of the adjusting and checking the clearance. Hopefully it will provide someone with an idea of what to expect on this job and make life easier for someone else. It is a complex job and not for the novice. You should definitely get the service manual before attempting this job as the timing of the engine is crucial and complex and this video is inadequate for that. The bike in this video is a 2000 model year VFR 800. The engine in this was made from 1998-2001 and has gear-driven camshafts. Earlier models also had gear-driven camshafts, but may be different. Later models had belt/chain driven camshafts and would be very different.
