It also became the first-ever professional education awards ceremony to be telecast on a national television channel (ITN), making it a milestone moment in Sri Lanka’s education history 📺🇱🇰 👔 The ceremony was graced by Mr. Asite Talwatte, Past President of CA Sri Lanka and Former Country Managing Partner of EY Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Mr. Heshana Kuruppu (President – CA Sri Lanka), Mr. Chaaminda Kumarasiri (Chairman – ACCA Sri Lanka Member Network Panel), and Mr. Hennayake Bandara (Vice President – CMA Sri Lanka). Mr. Tishan Subasinghe, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka, along with Heads of CA, ACCA, AAT, and CMA institutes, were also present, making this a truly prestigious gathering of leaders in professional education. 🌍 The ceremony featured prize winners from 17 districts across Sri Lanka, reflecting the nationwide reach of onlineaccounting.lk. Nearly 40 leading A/L Commerce stream lecturers were also honoured for their significant contribution to Sri Lanka’s education sector, further strengthening the commitment to academic excellence. A key segment of the ceremony was the Student of the Year Awards. 🥇 Student of the Year 2023 – Gamith Thushara (18 years), who secured six subject prizes and achieved the highest accumulated points at CA Corporate Level in 2023. 🥇 Student of the Year 2024 – Shanjey Kulandaivel, winner of four subject prizes and the highest accumulated points in 2024, as evaluated by an expert panel. 🌟 In addition, several Special Category Awards were presented, including CMA Student of the Year 2024, Most Outstanding New CA (2023 & 2024), Youngest Chartered Accountant (2023 & 2024), and ACCA Top Sri Lankan Affiliate – September 2024. All recipients were students of onlineaccounting.lk, further highlighting the institute’s role in shaping Sri Lanka’s top accounting and finance professionals. 🎉 Another proud moment of the ceremony was the recognition of A/L Island 1st Rankers from 2022 & 2023, both of whom also chose onlineaccounting.lk as their professional education partner and were present at BMICH as prize winners. 💰 In total, over LKR 3 million in cash prizes were awarded during the ceremony. Winners also received certificates, medals, Scope Cinema movie vouchers, while the Student of the Year awardees were treated to a family buffet at ITC Ratnadipa, celebrating their achievements with their parents.
