The Mazda FD RX-7 is one without doubt one of the most popular Japanese sports cars ever made, so when we laid eyes on this example at Phillip Island recently it certainly took us by surprise. Under the bonnet now sees a Honda K20 4-cylinder engine boosted by a Garrett turbocharger that makes around 325kw to the back wheels thanks to BYP Racing and Developments. The engine conversion sees the front end some 40 kilograms lighter with power driven through an S2000 gearbox and Mazda rear end. 2001 RX7 FD3s Series 8 [ RHONDA ] Honda K20A engine (stock bottom end) Garrett GT3076R turbocharger @ 17psi, E85 fuel system Custom exhaust manifold 3inch dump pipe & 3inch Titanium Exhaust system F20C inlet manifold + BYP Racing K2F manifold adaptor Custom V-mount intercooler & radiator set-up Tuned with Hondata KPROv4 Power: 325kW / 435hp @ wheels Honda S2000 6-speed gearbox Clutch Master Twin Disc K2F clutch & BYP Racing K2F adaptor plate EVO X Brembo 4-piston calipers & 355mm 2-piece rotors Advan 19x9/10in wheels, Federal RSRR 235/265 tyres RE amemiya fibreglass vented bonnet, APR GT250 wing AIM MXL2 digital data and track logger Tuned by BYP Racing and Developments with Hondata KPROv4 Power: 325kW / 435hp @ wheels ~ Performance: 11.13 @ 133mph First time on the Phillip Island circuit / bypracing Topstage Advanced Composites VIC Time Attack Phillip Island, Australia, April 2016 http://victimeattack.com.au http://www.fullBOOST.com.au Get your track gear! http://shop.fullboost.com.au https://plus.google.com/+fullboost Facebook / fullboostcomau YouTube / fullboost. .
