Check out our website at www.flyingforfreedom.org The final leg of our journey around Britain 2016. The team arrives back at Kemble, well almost all of us. The weather turns to the worst for the trip so far and the team struggle with low cloud while flying. Richard Meredith-Hardy, Mike Oakley and Nathan Forster continue in the pilot seats each with a passenger. They make their way from Ince microlight strip to Cotswold airport at Kemble, through breaks in the cloud. The team sum up on what has been a fantastic trip through England, Scotland and just into Wales. They have taken almost 60 Wounded Injured and Sick military personnel/veterans into the air. They have stopped at many airfields around the country and met lots of people on their way. They completed the goal they didn't manage last year of getting from Land's End to John O'Groats and developed and learned about their own flying abilities in flexwing microlights. The Flying for Freedom team have again bonded and increased their team work in the air and also on the ground with a superb team of ground support who put their time aside in the summer to help out putting tents up, sorting fuel, ground communications, changes of plans, cooking, prepping food, organising cinemas, organising WIS to come and visit, washing up, driving many hours, and trying to build the press interest around the group to interest future people to sponsor us. Flying for Freedom was originally setup to fly to the South Pole, Antarctica and has since grown further to do far more with Wounded and injured servicemen and women. There is a core team of pilots and also several others who are learning to fly each year through the charity which is link with Help for Heroes and the Endeavour fund. The plan to continue doing more expeditions in Flexwing microlights to build on the teams piloting skills before trying the South Pole trip in the future. Check out our website at www.flyingforfreedom.org The films have been put together by www.perfectviewproductions.co.uk who have been partnered with Flying for Freedom for four years to this point. The director, cameraman and editor is Kirk Watson and for the first stage of this trip Miles Mallinson from Wired Tree Productions joined Kirk to work as in the air or on the ground cameraman each day and also edited some of the earlier trip films. The second half of the trip Kirk was joined by Andrew O'Donnell of Beluga Lagoon films to act as cameraman in the air and on the ground which gave some great shots for the last few films from John O'Groats onwards. The film team used Gorpos, Lumix GH4, Sony FS7, and Sony NX70. Microphones were Sony shotgun mics, Technica radio mics, Rode radio miss and Rode shotgun mic. The films have all been edited on FCP X with colour grading done in Magic bullet looks.
