He left the home after a quarrel with his brothers, then he joined as a soldier in Kottarakarai Ramarajan kingdom. His brothers searched Muthu pattan and found him in the Kottarakarai samasthanam. Muthu pattan agreed to come to home and meet his parents on his brothers request. On the way to home, they worshipped Sorimuthu ayyanar. Muthu pattan wanted to take some rest in the midway of forest, so he asked his brothers to leave him alone and proceed further. Muthu pattan met two girls names bommakka, dhimmakka in the forest and fell in love with them. He asked their father's permission to marry them. Valapagadai put few conditions to give Muthu pattan her daughters. Muthu pattan agreed and married the girls and joined with pagadai family by removing his brahmin identities. In a fight to save the cows, he was killed by thieves. Singampatti king built a temple for Muthu pattan as Pattavarayan temple near sorimuthu ayyanar temple in tirunelveli.
