Ever since my first Mk1 2.4 Jaguar I've been hooked on that body style, after 2 more Mk 1's, I graduated to a Mk 2 2.4 Manual Overdrive and was even worse hooked!, then came I can't remember how many, there was a 3.4 Automatic, a 3.8 Automatic I changed to a 3.8 Manual Overdrive, even cut the tunnel out of an S Type in the local wrecking yard and had Nick Dawber graft it in, then a 2.4 manual I changed to a 3.8 manual Overdrive with the help of an old Mk 9 in Westport!, even an old terribly rusty and hacked around XK120 from Tassie found it's way back to NZ and then back to the UK with a bit of my help! after a sterling effort by world famous Panel Beater Willie Newman!, (see 'XKape to the Country'!, 660106 completely finished!) but I was always chasing the mirage!, a Daimler SP250 V8 Dart, I got close a couple of times!, a BRG one up in around Dominion Road in Auckland, a White one in Herne Bay, one in Otumoetai! and another Cream one owned by a guy where my best mate's parents owned Flats in Sherbourne Street, he'd moved there from where I first found it in Breezes Road!, it needed a lot of work!, , long story short, my Brother got that one!, eventually!, after all the hard work was done! I never quite 'took' to the Mk 2 Daimlers though!, funny thing that, they were a 'Pommy' V8 and for all intents and purposes all my mates swore by Chevy v8's, even Ford took a hammering so no way was i going to stoop to an English V8 and an Auto in a Jag body!, oh how ignorant I was!, maybe IF they'd done the Manual overdrive a whole lot more, just maybe I'd have gotten 1/2 way interested, afterall the Dart had them! well a 4 speed at most! Well dead Mk 2 Jags are getting very hard to find and so when Retirement looms and nostalgia strikes!, (aka a 'latter life crisis'!) beggars can't be choosers!, right?! So when this popped up and bit me, I just had to "do the right thing"! (VGG!) Sorry the video's not up to his exceptional standard, but we're getting there!, slowly! and likewise for the 'Dame'! aka 'Hemi'!!! Enjoy! Thanks for watching!
