Most of the time, you loved being a shapeshifter. You could be anyone, anything, anytime. You lived a dozen lives as cats and horses and fish. It was magical. You felt magical. You never had to worry about what you looked like because you could look however you wanted. You never worried about food because you could eat pretty much anything in different forms. What you did worry about was hunters. You were vulnerable in animal form, you knew that. When you were a deer you expected arrows and when you were a mouse you expected traps. You didn't expect a magical collar that kept you from shifting back. And you didn't except humans to be so good at manipulation. Now you're here. Six months later, still a dog, still treated like a dog. You swore the minute you were free, the humans would pay. All humans. Well. Except one. One was kind to you. They visited you. Brought you food, water. That human would be spared from your wrath. They might even be the one to set you free.
