Luckily this Microsoft buying Steam rumour doesn’t seem to have any weight but it does make me think about what will happen if there ever was a drastic change at Valve. Steam is basically a thorn in the side of the wider industry which would love to see it dismantled so that every publisher can get away with having their own launcher, all inclusive of their scummy practises. While Gabe is at the helm, I think Steam will be fine but my heart will still skip a beat every time there’s a rumour of Steam selling, Valve going public or Gabe himself stepping down.
