Viewing & Memorial for Cristina Guadalupe Ardon Sunday February 22, 2026 2:00pm at The Sanctuary Church Cristina Guadalupe Ardon, 48, of Oakland Park, Florida, passed away on February 5, 2026, in Weston, Florida. Born on July 18, 1977, in Acajutla, El Salvador, Cristina was the daughter of Luis Ardon and Maria Berta Peñate de Ardon. She spent her early childhood in El Salvador before continuing her education in the United States, ultimately graduating from Fort Lauderdale High School. Cristina built a life rooted in hard work, community, and deep pride in her heritage. She worked as a server in several well known local restaurants, including Topanga and California Pizza Kitchen, before realizing her dream of becoming a business owner. Nearly 15 years ago, she opened Taqueria y Antojitos El Guanaco, a restaurant that quickly became a cherished staple in Oakland Park. Through her food, her presence, and her unwavering dedication, Cristina became a familiar and beloved figure at community festivals and local events, always representing El Guanaco with joy and authenticity. Cristina is survived by her son, Adiel Alexis Benitez; her partner, Rudi Lopez; and a large, loving extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Sanctuary Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday, February 22nd beginning at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are being coordinated by Fred Hunter Funeral Home in partnership with the staff of The Sanctuary Church led by Pastor Dwayne Black. Burial services will be held at the Pompano Beach Cemetery on Monday, February 23rd at 10:30am. Cristina’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all friends, relatives, and community members who have come together to honor her memory.
