The Marji Gesick is considered by many to be the hardest single day mountain bike race in North America. The race awards a belt buckle to anyone who can complete the 100+ mile course in under 12 hours. In the ten years of the event, no woman has earned the belt buckle. Some doubted if it was even possible.
