Here's a clip from an almost forgotten film with the silk-skinned, gorgeous celluloid Goddess Lana Turner, the eternal gladiator Victor Mature, and last but not least "The King of Hollywood", Mr. Clark Gable, doing their Hollywoodish resistance routine in "Betrayed" from 1954. It was in the middle of the so called "cold war", and the Western Hemisphere seemed to have needed another moral booster in motion pictures. Strangely enough that the portrayed Germans in the film all spoke a rather fluent English. They even sang the partly quite complicated melody of the featured song in perfect English; and that after the first hearing! Well, as J. G. S. said: "Wo man singt, da lass Dich ruhig nieder; böse Menschen haben keine Lieder." You will get the idea what impact Clarke Gable made on some of Hollywood's youngsters when you watch Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's hilarious flick from 2009: "Inglourious Basterds." Stay tuned for more (and wait for the surprise after "Lana's" vocal!), Yours truly, Brew
