Shipon Kumar Rabidas is a young a d dynamic leader of the newly emerging Dalit Rights movement in Bangladesh. His ancestors migrated from Bihar during the British period. The irony is that not many know that there is a huge number of Dalits in Bangladesh from the Bhojpuri speaking belt and still excluded from the mainstream discourse. I spoke to Sipon in Dhaka at his office about the conditions of Dalits and other excluded communities in Bangladesh. 35 years old and a masters in English Literature, Shipon Kumar Rabidas speak with confidence and courage of conviction.
