Utilizing modern development tools like PSn00bSDK, it’s an attempt to re-imagine the Sonic experience on hardware that was never intended for it, all while respecting the spirit of the original games. What is the meaning of "XA"? "XA" refers to a widely used audio format on the PlayStation, which this fangame adopts for encoding its background music. Including it in the title pays homage to the target platform, adds a sense of originality, and serves as a subtle nod to Sonic CD. - Thought I would check out this beta update real quick. This update I'm pretty sure mainly highlights introducing both Tails & Knuckles as playable characters with their original moves. Not only that, but all 3 characters of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles have a different design now. Important Note This is a prototype and highly unfinished. Keep that in mind as mentioned on the fan game page by the creator that it lacks significant code, optimizations, and polish. Slightly different from before, test levels are now separated on the title screen menu under Engine Test. Game Start option now only has 2 playable levels, while other stages can be accessed via.
