This past summer we traveled 9 straight weeks in Europe, visited 4 countries and 13 different towns and capitals. We’re still digesting all the experiences and adventures we had as a family and are happy to share some of them with you. Stop 5 on our summer travel extravaganza was Morocco. We visited 3 different locations. In this Vlog we will show you Marrakesh and the costal town of Essaouira. 3 words to describe Morocco ~ magical, colourful, chaos! After spending a few days in Marrakesh, we were ready for a slower pace. Enter, Essaouira. In comparison to Marrakesh, Essaouira is a small city and it’s a perfect place in which to unwind. There are no grand things to see or do in this port city but that’s okay! What there is to see is more about culture and Moroccan coastal life. One of the things you definitely have to explore on a visit to Essaouira is the city’s skala and ramparts where they filmed the HBO series “Game Of Thrones”. Built as the city’s defence on the ocean, Essaouira’s 18th-century skala and ramparts are lovely to wander. There are two levels to these fortifications that you can check out. The ground level used to be military storage areas. Today, it is filled with little shops. We loved to walk the streets browsing all the colourful Rugs and accessories.
