ORIGINAL / ALBUM TRACK (w/ vocals):    • EXIST - FAULT'S PEAKS   Exist is a Prog-Metal band from Frederick, Maryland (where I live!). The history of me & this band is actually kind of an interesting story. So, read on if you're so inclined. Or, skip below to the links for more information on the band! Exist's frontman, Max Phelps (Cynic, Death To All), has been a good friend of mine since I was 13. We came up in the local scene together, and I was actually a full-time member of this band back then. Little do most people know, I actually played on the band's first/self-titled album (it was the first full-length I ever recorded) back when I was 15. We parted ways (on completely good terms, just wanted to go in slightly different musical directions) but Max & I have always remained close. Fast forward a number of years, and Exist is now touring & signed to Prosthetic Records. They had recently parted ways with their current drummer, and Max approached me about recording drums on their next full-length. Long story short, that didn't end up happening because of scheduling. Instead, Hannes Grossman (Necrophagist, Obscura, Alkaloid) ended up playing on the album. But, when Max & I were still in talks of having me do it, I helped write the drum parts for this song, "Faults Peaks". Later, after we realized scheduling wouldn't work out, Hannes learned the parts I wrote for this song for the album, while still doing his own thing with it. So the album version is a culmination of his & my parts. Max hired me to do some drum videos to help promote the album, & I was happy to do so. Always been a fan of his writing. Max is a big reason I got so into metal when I was younger - being that he is a few years older than me, he was always the one to give me new music when I was growing up. So shoutout to Max, THE HOMIE! The drums I tracked in this video are also a culmination of what I wrote, as well as the new parts that Hannes wrote/recorded for the album.
