France, 1322. Assassin Domenico Auditore hunts the man responsible for the loss of Altair's Codex, and the death of Domenico's family. He swore vengeance and the destruction of the Templar Order. He tracks his target from Milan to Paris, where he visits an old friend, Mentor of the French Brotherhood of Assassins, Thomas de Carneillon. They learn that the man Domenico seeks is after a precursor artifact which lies below Saint Denis, a small town north of Paris. This film follows the two veterans on the quest to retrieve it.
