Kurt Stone - The Song of the Shield Maiden (Ragnar and Lagertha Visualizer)

This song was conceived in the early part of 2022, when I was preparing to play a gig at the Karoo Saloon, near Barrydale. The hosts thought it would be a good idea to turn the evening into a Viking-themed one since my music was suggestive of that kind of theme. They were really kind to us, and so friendly, that I was inspired to go all the way and write an actual Viking song. And so The Song of the Shield Maiden was born. I wasn't really planning to play it again after that gig, but I enjoyed playing and singing it so much that I found myself singing it at other gigs too. Eventually, I decided I would make it an official part of my repertoire and release it online. It's important to note that, while I have used footage of Lagertha and Ragnar (from the epic TV series Vikings) to portray the story of The Song of the Shield Maiden in the visualizer, both the song and the story are original and are in no way affiliated with the Vikings series.
