Sharing Stories

Sharing Stories was a collaboration between Bristol City Council’s Libraries and Museums services. Focusing on the Bristol High Streets of Filwood Broadway and East Street, Bedminster, the project explored new ways of telling neighbourhood stories through hyper-local displays on the High Street. Working closely with community partners, acta and Filwood Community Centre, and a team of amazing Community Connectors, a wonderful range of eclectic stories were unearthed from communities old and new. Knowle West Media Centre collated these stories and worked with six emerging designers aged 16 – 25 to turn them into two unique exhibitions for Filwood and Bedminster Libraries. These were then built by KWMC The Factory, an innovation centre for making, digital manufacturing and product design in the heart of Knowle West.
