Krakow offers many beautiful places and is the most visited destination in our country. Our Krakow tour begins at the Main Square, the largest square in Poland. Here, you can see St. Mary's Basilica with Wit Stwosz's Altarpiece, from which the St. Mary's Trumpet Call resonates. You'll also find the Cloth Hall, which has retained its trading function, but offers much more. Inside the Cloth Hall, you can visit the Gallery of 19th Century Polish Art and the Underground Main Square, a tourist route that allows you to uncover the secrets of Krakow's underground. These are not the only attractions offered by the Main Square in Krakow. Another place worth visiting is the Town Hall Tower, a remnant of the former Town Hall. It offers a panoramic view from its observation deck. Moreover, you'll find the small St. Wojciech's Church and many other beautiful buildings on the square. The Royal Route runs through the Main Square, beginning at Kleparz and leading through the Barbican, the gate and Florianska Street, the Main Square, and the Grodzka and Kanonicza streets to the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill. Polish monarchs used to traverse this route during coronations and funerals. It's worth taking this path, even if you're visiting Krakow for the weekend. On the Royal Route stands the Barbican, part of the defensive route and open for visits. Further on, you'll find Planty, the city gardens that have replaced the former fortifications of Krakow. Another attraction is Florian Gate, leading to Florianska Street and further to the Main Square. Near the gate, you'll find two museums. Jan Matejko's House, a branch of the National Museum, is filled with exhibits, memorabilia, furniture, and paintings by the artist. Another museum worth visiting during your Krakow tour is the Czartoryski Princes' Museum. Here, you can admire various works of art, including Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting "Lady with an Ermine." From the Main Square, Grodzka Street leads to Wawel Hill. Wawel is a treasure trove of knowledge about Poland's history and a significant center of secular and ecclesiastical power, all nestled in Krakow. The Royal Castle on Wawel Hill has been repeatedly reconstructed. Various tour routes are available, allowing you to explore the representative rooms, the Crown Treasury, the armory, and the Grand Courtyard. Another attraction on Wawel Hill and in Krakow itself is the Wawel Cathedral, hiding royal tombs, the tombs of princes, and national heroes in its crypts. During important church and national ceremonies, the Sigismund Bell tolls within the cathedral. Exploring Krakow also includes two atmospheric districts - Kazimierz and Podgórze, connected by the Father Bernatek Footbridge. If you're looking for original pubs and shops, Kazimierz and Podgórze should be on your sightseeing list. Krakow boasts five mounds to see. The most popular one is the Kosciuszko Mound, erected as a monument to Tadeusz Kosciuszko. It's also worth climbing the Krakus Mound, one of the top attractions in Podgórze. If you're seeking cultural attractions, you'll certainly be interested in the main building of the National Museum, featuring permanent and temporary exhibitions. Keep in mind that the National Museum's branches can be visited for free on Tuesdays. For those looking for nature-related relaxation, remember to include Błonia, Jordan Park, and Zakrzówek in your sightseeing plan. These are some of Krakow's finest natural attractions. It could be a great way to conclude your visit to Krakow. Krakow is a perfect weekend destination, even though you won't be able to explore all of the city's attractions in a few days. However, it's not necessary to do so. Simply choose the attractions that interest you the most and explore them during your stay in Krakow.
