this one a full on fm synthesis exploration. i started with an arpeggio that was pretty irregular and put a simple but punchy poinciana-esq drum groove under it using yet more fm based sounds. i kick off the arp and the groove and tinkered with the fm settings on the arp, while also making little adjustments to the drum groove here and there. i layered in some more fm chords and started exploring the ratios and other fm settings on the fly. be warned there are some pretty wild fm sounds that pop up. the background image is a photo i took of what i believe is a sun dial somewhere in ithaca, new york a number of years ago. as usual i have some live jsui visuals over the background. ps, check out ‪@armanbohn‬ 's channel for more on the great conjunction (GC), the retro fm synth i used for the fm-based arp and chords.
