A top Vatican Cardinal and close advisor to Pope Francis speaks at USD on the topic of "Christian Nonviolence and Just Peace." On Oct. 7, 2017, the University of San Diego hosted Cardinal Turkson during a conference called "The Catholic Church Moves Toward Nonviolence? Just Peace and Just War in Dialogue." The conference brought together Just Peace theorists and activists with leading military and Just War theorists to discuss war, peace, nonviolence and justice in the contemporary world.
