Video recordings of operating #surgeons are improving #surgicaltraining, by using the recordings to analyse the interaction between the surgeon and the trainee. This video presents the MODE #research project and the DANA Centre/NCRM surgical training event held in February 2013. The project is called 'Digital technologies in the operating theatre' and has two aims; to look at how digital technologies shape surgical work, and how these technologies can address substantive issues. Video allows you to replay procedures, looking closely at how instruments are used and what is said. This could help surgeons in training make best use of their time and optimise learning. Insights from the project are now being used to train new consultants on how to supervise trainees. Watch the video to learn more.
