DIY $250 motorized wheelchair attachment

Modified a $180 Amazon electric scooter with ~$50 worth of parts to make a detachable motorized attachment for a manual wheelchair. Did not want to spend $2700 on the commercially available device so I attempted to do it myself for an order of magnitude less. Not an elegant design (i.e. duct tape and zip ties galore) but it didn’t fail during 12 miles of trails at Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks… that’s a success in my book. Met 49 CFR 175.10(a)(17) requirements with design so had no problems getting through the airport and transporting on the airplane. Learnings from 1st design will be carried over to 2nd design while complying with $250 limit.
