Solo Bushcraft Camping Overnight | Open A-Frame, Natural Shelter For Campfire Cooking

WATCH MY BUSHCRAFT BREAKFAST VIDEO -    • Bushcraft Breakfast Cast Iron Cooking: Pot...   Bushcraft overnighter in the woods, camping out at a natural shelter made of eastern red cedar logs and leaf litter. Campfire cooking inside the shelter a nice dinner at the campsite. I get out to a new location in the woods and build an open a-frame / lean-to type shelter to spend the night in. A very time consuming build. First i started off by finding two trees that were about 8-10 feet apart that i could secure my ridge pole to. Then, i began leaning cedar saplings up against it, and cutting them to length. All of the wood i am using in this video was sourced from a neighboring plot of land, where the landowner was clearing out some land for some sort of building. The trees were cut down, and i offered to haul them off for free. The project required me to use an axe to clean them up quite a bit, so that they fig together snug. Once the back wall was completed, i spend about an hour getting leaves together to cover the back wall to protect myself from the elements: rain and wind. The front and side of the shelter is enclosed to keep the smoke from the fire, blowing out. It worked very well for the majority of the night while cooking and hanging out in camp.
