What is the ISC? UofG’s Indigenous Programs Coordinator Jamie Horner tells us about programs and events offered at Indigenous Student Centre throughout the academic year. The Indigenous Student Centre engages a community of people from a variety of First Nations, Inuit and Métis cultures, backgrounds and world views. We strive to foster a diverse and holistic community based on Indigenous kinship models. Being immersed in an inclusive community helps individuals feel connected to each other and something bigger than ourselves. Throughout the fall and winter semesters, the Indigenous Student Centre hosts a range of activities and events open to the campus community including: • Visiting Elders and Knowledge Holders • Learning Circles • Socials • Workshops • Orange Shirt Day • Powley Day • Indigenous Recognition Week • Treaties Recognition Week and so much more!
