A pair of Barn Swallows, using mud pellets and grass, build their nest over the course of a week and then lay eggs. Subscribe for more nature and wildlife videos: https://bit.ly/SHFHvideos Nest building: June 7-11 Eggs laid (4): June 12-13 Eggs begin hatching: July 1 (subscribe for chick updates) Although we are in Barn Swallow breeding territory (on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and they breed throughout the Northern Hemisphere) and we have observed swallows frequenting a large field behind our house for feeding, this is the first year they have nested here. If they are happy with the spot, they may continue to repair and build nests in this spot year after year.
