Billy Daniel Alingo They say there is a reason, they say that time will heal, but neither time nor reason will change the way I feel, for no one knows the heartache that lies behind our smiles. No one knows how many times we broke down and cried. We want to tell you something so there won’t be any doubt – you were so wonderful to think of, but so hard to be without. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Our hearts still ache in sadness and secret tears still flow. What it means to lose you, no one will ever know. Benson Ochieng Alingo Today, we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of our Papa; Bernard Alingo, whose presence illuminated our lives like a guiding star in the night sky. Bernard was not just a meteorologist in the conventional sense; he was a meteorologist of the heart, teaching us invaluable lessons of knowing God through simplicity, humility, and the universal language of respect. Papa taught us that life’s simple pleasures are like little treasures hidden amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, waiting to be discovered and cherished. They’re the small moments that bring us joy, contentment, and a sense of gratitude for the beauty that surrounds us. Whether it’s watching a sunrise, sunset, watching sea waves breaking at the beach, savoring a cup of hot coffee on a chilly morning, or sharing a heartfelt conversation with a loved one, taking a walk with a friend, these simple pleasures remind us to slow down, appreciate the present moment, and find happiness in the things we perceive as little. To Bernard, there were no strangers, only friends waiting to be made, and his warmth and compassion touched the lives of countless individuals in ways both big and small. Rest in Heaven Papa “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” “There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone Brian Onyango Alingo Papa I am who I am because of you I remember with nostalgia the tough assignments that gave me nightmares in Physisc and Chemistry. You made these subjects appear so simple and this made me rise to the top of my class in these areas and has mounded me to become who I am today. Your concern about my family as a grandfather will never go unappreciated. We will carry on with your good works. Go well Papa, till we meet again. Betty Anyango Alingo Remembering you is easy. I do it every day, but there is an ache within my heart that will never go away. My father was my hero and the best person in my life. He is the person I looked up to for all the desires and dreams in my life. He faced all the difficulties without letting us know what he was going througha hero indeed. He mentored me into good morals and social values. To my children, they have lost not only a grandfather but also a father. He will be missed dearly by his friend Jones to whom he was a personal friend. Papa, I will dearly miss you. You were my hero and will remain so in my heart. Till we meet again-may God continue being with you. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Brenda Achieng Alingo To say I miss you is an understatement. I wish you never had to leave us. I was willing to give everything to have you here with us. I was never prepared for a day like this. On 10th January was the very last time we last saw each other. I never knew I was coming to see you for the very last time. I never knew you would be saying Goodbye at this time for the very last time. The time spent with you was too short and will forever be short but I will still live to forever cherish the moments. I miss you so much Papa. I believe one day we shall meet again. But until then, I just know that we all love you a lot even though we never said it, we were happy you provided us a loving home and above all we are all proud of you and proud to be you children. My heart is shattered; my tears overflow but with total submission to the will of God. We say Goodbye Rest in Glory Papa. No farewell words were spoken, there was no time to say goodbye. You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why 20th June 1956 - April 10th 2024 20th June 1956 - April 10th 2024 Millent Ooro Alingo Go well Bernard, we loved you but we can’t help to accept your departure. Your good works and deeds shall remain enshrined in our hearts from our children to our great-great, grandchildren. The respect of nature and the appreciation of science shall forever remain your epitaph. Forever you remain an icon and a pillar to the family, forever you remain the flag bearer of the Alingos. The fear and respect of God shall remain the compass of the family. Go well Papa you have fulfilled your
