The Vietnamese Lunar New Year called Tet is the biggest and longest holiday in Vietnam. It's a time where family get together to welcome in the new year. Big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be quiet during Tet since many workers go back to their village and hometown to celebrate. In this video - I share some insights and tips of what to expect during the Tet holiday and how that may affect your travel in Vietnam. Though there will be business closures during this period, bigger cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and tourist towns like Hoi An will have more places and attractions open to service tourists. I've listed opening and closing dates for some key attractions in Ho Chi Minh City on the video. Businesses and attractions have different dates of operations during Tet. There are no fixed closing dates except for government banks which will close a total of 9 days and re-open on February 4th. The dates mentioned in the video are subject to change.
